My favourite HarryLu fanfiction
John Mason said, "You were born an original, don't die a copy." There's something to it, isn't there? To me it says that each of us is unique, and as such we have unique opinions and tastes. In this article you'll find out what mine are. I'll show you which HarryLu fanfics have enchanted me, and maybe I'll introduce a few people to stories they don't know yet.
What is HarryLu? It's a HP ship. The word comes from relationship, and in our case a ship means a romantic or sexual relationship between two or more people. Since I'm talking about HP ships, I mean romantic or sexual relationships between characters from the Harry Potter books. In the case of HarryLu, they're Harry Potter and Lucius Malfoy. You might also spot the abbreviation HP/LM on stories.
It's probably worth mentioning that besides the word ship, you'll also come across the labels slash, femslash and het. Slash is the label for gay pairings where two men play the main role. Femslash is also a same sex pairing, but between women, and het is simply a heterosexual pairing. So HarryLu is, logically, slash.

I have more favourite ships, but within HarryLu my favourite author is probably Tesska, also known as Testrálka. You'll find her websites HERE and HERE (the newer site). I warmly recommend browsing them. It's like paradise for fanfiction lovers.
Out of all the HarryLu stories I love, I picked two, even though it was hard not to introduce every single one of them.
Just a heads up for English readers, Tesska writes in Slovak and most of the stories in this article are in Czech or Slovak. If you don't mind a translator, though, it would be a shame to miss out on them.
Získej si mě (Win Me Over)
Získej si mě is, in my view, a beautiful AU story written by Tesska. You can download it from her website as a 210 page PDF.
If you're despairing that you have nothing to read, Tesska will keep you fed intellectually for a very long time.
And what exactly is this story about? Harry wins the war, but not entirely without consequences. Right at the beginning you find out that he was raped by none other than Lucius Malfoy and was left pregnant. So it's an mpreg story (mpreg meaning male pregnancy). Malfoy only finds out after he's released from prison. Of course he wants to meet his son, which Harry refuses to allow at first, but as time goes by, many interesting facts come to the surface...
And what about Narcissa? Good question! Read it and find out.
Kapka tvé krve (A Drop of Your Blood)
Vampirism. A theme I surprisingly don't come across very often in HP stories, or maybe it shows up in other ships (Severus as the old bat doesn't count).
In many stories Harry is tired of fighting and doesn't want to chase any more criminals. That's not the case in this one, though. Not only has he become an Auror, he's actually one of the very best... Until it comes out that he's gay... Well, even the wizarding world isn't always tolerant, although I'm used to that from plenty of slash fanfiction.
So Harry is muddling through life when bodies start appearing around the city, and the victims are quite clearly the work of a vampire. Which vampire, Harry doesn't know for a long time, but he meets him sooner than would be wise, because he's simply irresistible. Who saves him? Surprisingly, another vampire, Lucius Malfoy, who is supposed to be dead...
Kapka tvé krve is a lovely 85 page HarryLu.
I'll just briefly mention two more of Tesska's stories that I keep rereading over and over, Jsi moje naděje and Účel světí prostředky. There are others too, but I'd overwhelm you. Her Snarry is pure luxury too.
Chutě (Tastes)
As I mentioned above, this is a tetralogy written by Womiska. You can find it on Wattpad, and get ready to be reading for a while. It's not some three chapter affair, but a proper, plot packed, hefty fanfic.
Also, don't expect classic HarryLu, as in the hero of the wizarding world and Lord Voldemort's right hand. It's set in an alternate world and for me it's an absolute ten out of ten, but all of Womiska's AUs are amazing.
The first part is called Chuť zapovězeného, and what is there to say... What tempts us most? What's forbidden, of course. So a relationship with someone quite a bit older and maybe from a different social sphere? How will it turn out? This part continues with Chuť nerozhodného, Chuť odříkaného and the last one, released fairly recently, is Chuť zkoušeného.
Another story I keep rereading again and again...
The already mentioned Blanch is the queen of humour for me. Her stories Chyby zítřka, A tak bůh stvořil Malfoye and the currently updating Pravdivé lži have been brightening my days regularly for over a year now. I won't hear a bad word about them. When I'm in a bad mood, they're a guaranteed cure. Of course, A tak bůh stvořil Malfoye isn't exactly a funny story, it's clearly a short dark fic. But Chyby zítřka is positively sparkling with humour (or maybe I'm just twisted...) and you can read about how Lucius hates Harry Potter. There are so many reasons why that you couldn't even list them all, but sex is sex, and with Harry it's literally unforgettable... I warmly recommend it...
And then there's Hellena Saint and her HarryLu called Jste si jist?. I'll admit I haven't read it yet, but Hellena writes beautifully, and her story Moje malá Šmejdka, which I'll mention in another article about other, less common ships, is a real gem, so I believe that once I read this one and update this post, I'll praise it to the skies.
Could You Love Me?
This story, written by TheSiner in the English original, is perfection in a word. It's a story whose central theme is mpreg, male pregnancy. (And yes, I love mpreg stories...)
In this story we get a forced marriage, an unwanted pregnancy and above all we get to watch the relationship between the main characters develop.
The Czech translation was taken care of by Adelaine, Sirina and Izmy R.I.P on Sirina's website. Unfortunately it isn't finished.
Originally I wanted to include HarryLu in another, broader article about less common ships, but I found out I have so many fanfics I want to show you that nobody would ever finish reading that article...
Srdce draka (Heart of a Dragon)
Srdce draka by Hannibal234 is a seemingly short post war story in which Lucius Malfoy finally realises he's free and nothing holds him back. He travels to Romania, where he buys a baby dragon, and who helps him raise it but our Harry, who has just become a dragon tamer. But I won't give away any more! I'd spoil far too much for you!
Like Tesska, Hannibal234 also writes in Slovak.

What is this story about? Time travel is common in HP stories, but it's usually a trip into the past, as in an adult running off to save someone. This story is unique in that Harry is only one year old when he accidentally sets off one of those shiny, ingenious and beautiful devices. He's sent 24 years into the past and is raised by the Snape family. Which beautifully means that Severus is his adoptive brother.
You get to see Harry meet future Death Eaters and consider them friends, and you can also watch Harry get tangled up with Lord Voldemort. But then comes the turning point. Harry has no choice, and before he knows it, he's back in his own time as a one year old boy. In that not so distant past he leaves everyone without anyone knowing what happened, and they don't give up and keep looking for him... I won't give away any more, or you might not even need to read it.
